Philip A. Davidson, M.D. is an
orthopaedic surgeon specializing in
cartilage restoration, and is widely
recognized for his expertise in joint
resurfacing, including transplantation
surgery and biological restoration of
knee injuries. Dr. Davidson is dedicated
to teaching and research in the field of
cartilage restoration, and is currently
enrolling patients in several clinical
studies dealing with joint resurfacing. In
addition to that, he is an orthopaedic
consultant to the PGA, MLB and the
NFL. He is on the clinical faculty in the
Department of Orthopedic Surgery at
the University of South Florida.
Davidson graduated with honors
from Harvard University and earned a
medical degree with honors in research
from Cornell University. He has published
many scientific papers and given numerous
lectures worldwide, frequently serving as
a visiting professor. He is the CEO and
co-founder of Tampa Bay Specialty
Surgery Center, and has been with
Tampa Bay Orthopaedic Specialists
since 1993. He is Board Certified by the
American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Davidson serves as an executive and director of several medical device companies. He is a recognized consultant and advisor to the medical business community, and is responsible for scientific and strategic growth with several small and large companies.
